Spam all your friends email and you can also install this WordPress plug-in that makes a Status update any time you post a new comic. I got it running for GodsExchange.com and it brings in some traffic, even if 70% of it are bots.

Post it all over Facebook (create a Page for it) and MySpace.

If it helps I've got a link to it on the front page at Lankyland.com so most of my readers are likely to start checking it out soon enough. I'm holding off posting it to my own forums until you've got a few more comics published so they can read a few and then get hooked.

Another idea is you can publish ads on ProjectWonderful. You can get some ad exposure for less than $0.05 a day. Plus you can also get your own ads on here and use the money you earn for hosting an ad to pay for your own ad to be hosted elsewhere.

Add your site to Google, Yahoo and Bing.

The WordPress plug-in is a good way as there are lots of bots that scan Twitter for hyperlinks. Those bots hit up your site and they usually end up linking to the comic for a few days.

I recommend setting up a Twitter account for all the Comic Updates. Then you can retweet the automatically Tweeted updates so that it looks like even more people are following your comic

Yup. I used to just spam people when I setup a new website. Now I can spam people via email, Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.
