This marks the first of a regular thing I am going to do here on DIY, every sunday I will sit down and do some random writings about the news and whatever else pops into my head. I know it’s now Monday and all but I think I will post them on Sundays, gives people a reason to come to the sight on that day if anything. I will be doing this mostly just to keep you all informed on what’s happeneing in the world because let’s face it… you are way to busy reading the entire american elf archive to actually pay attention to the outside world. So all you got to do now is come here on Sundays and I will fill you in on all the worldy happenings… Of course I will more than likely sneak in most of the news important to us music/ gamer/ litrature/ pop culture nerds but hey, that’s to be expected right? I will also sneak in some great links to some other media and maybe even a some weird shit I find here on the internet too. A few warnings before hand though… I am oppinionated and I really stopped careing what everyone thinks about me a while ago so if you got a problem with what I am saying then please be vocal about it and leave a comment (or sign up for the forum and we will discuss it there), if this offends you and you are uncapable of constructivly debating it then honestly go elsewhere and fucking die of herpes. I love to read comments on stuff like this and I hope I can spark something from time to time. Today’s post will just talk mostely about my oppinions on some of the topics I discuss because I want to get across my veiw point first and all, so it’s less about news today and more about me… I am selfish like that. So ladies and gents… away we go!
Comics: Both web and printed comics. I feel like I am authority enough to talk about this and keep you informed. Writer and artist news, new reads, ext.
Music: My real passion in life. I don’t think I can inform you on everything happeneing in music because this is what I live for, but damnit if I can’t provide some interesting reads every week on the topic. Get ready for the rants…
Sports: Allow me to go off here for a second… It’s been a well known thing that nerd’s (of almost any sort that neridness) and sports just don’t get along. A long history of un-fit nerds, and asshole jocks who beat them up made this the norm back in the day. Well I am here to break that stereotype once and for all. Are all the nerds really telling me that big testosterone men don’t impress them with their athletic skills, but they play many RPG games where knights and beserkers run from town to town swinging weapons (nerds don’t understand Bret Favre but LOVE Kratos). I think it’s just people not saying the flat out truth, they just arent interested in shit if it doesn’t have princesses in trouble or dragons and I can accept that. Somewhere along the way it became cool for some nerds to like the “underdog sports” if you will. Comic nerds for instance seem to love Hockey, I personally blame Kevin Smith for that. However sports like baseball, football, and basketball are just huge no no’s in the world of the nerd however, and to that I say… FUCK THAT! I like sports because it’s a competitive display of skill that entertains me and it’s that simplen oh yeah and it can be FUCKING EPIC too. If you don’t like sports then that is completely cool with me but don’t make excuses for shit you don’t know about or don’t watch and give it a reason like “It’s just a stupid game with dudes throwing a ball around and it’s not talented.”… Fuck you ya simplictic fucktards. One thing that pisses me off more than anything is people who talk shit over things they don’t know because they never watch the thing they hate. While I admit not all sports interest me as much as others, but still I pay attention enough to know the stories going on. My favorite sports are MMA, Hockey, Soccer, and baseball. It was funny writing that because I just realized I am a man of the world (Hockey=mostly canadian, MMA=, mostly Brazillian and Japanese, Soccer = everywhere but the United states really, and baseball = almost entirly the united states). Anyway I will watch almost all other sports and even if I don’t I still catch highlights.
Movies and TV: I like movies and will keep you as informed with them I can… simple as that.
Video games: Pretty much like I stated with movies. I may not be able to inform as much as the other subjects though and I may rely on your guy’s oppinions more.
All other news: Beleive it or not, but shit happens outside of those mediums of entertainment. War’s, elections, death and destruction, scientific facts. I am here for all that as well.
So you best be checking in on Sunday From now on. It’s going to be more fun than swimming naked in a swimming pool purple jello… or something like that.
